Uncanny Collateral by Bryan McClellan

Uncanny Collateral (Valkyrie Collection, #1)Uncanny Collateral by Brian McClellan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Alek is a reaper, a kind of debt collector, but not in the standard sense. He collects on debts owed to the Other, the creatures that we only think are stories. When he is put on a mission from death to find who has been stealing souls he gets more than he bargained for.

This is a wonderful start to a new series from Bryan McClellan set in modern day Ohio that perfectly mixes the supernatural in to modern day culture. I liked that it shows that authorities are aware of each other, and work together but regular people don't know until they are affected by the Other.

I really enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the next one! I highly recommend this for your TBR pile.
